IIT Roorkee student bags Rs 2.15 crore package in player placement

New Delhi: An IIT (Roorkee) student bagged an offer of Rs 2.15 crore per year from a multinational company as part of the job placement campaign.

Three students of the institute bagged an annual cost offer of Rs 1.30 crore to Rs 1.8 crore from national companies.

About 1,243 students received job offers during the placement campaign that ended on December 16.

Eleven IIT (Roorkee) students bagged a job offer of Rs 1 crore per year.

IIT Roorkee said 281 companies participated in the campus placement campaign which ran from December 1 to 16.

The companies included Accenture Japan Limited, Amazon, American Express, Arup India Private Limited, Bank of America, Cisco, Dream 11,
EXL Service, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Havells India Limited, Hindustan Uniliver Limited, ICICI Bank, Intel, JP Morgan, Larsen and Toubro and Microsoft.

These companies provided 1,243 jobs, including 32 multinationals.

Speaking about the placement campaign, Professor In-Charge Placement and Internship IIT (Roorkee) Vinay Sharma said the corona pandemic
made some directional changes in the placement scenario.

“To do this, we developed a strategy whereby we focused on companies that are doing well in the areas of artificial intelligence, software networking, analytics, e-commerce, marketing products. Big consumption. We also ensured a great diversity in the profiles, which made it possible to select the students according to their interests ”, he explained.

“In addition to this, we have done an in-depth analysis of economic developments around the world and have therefore collaborated with companies that
were doing well, ”Prof Sharma added.

“With all of the above strategies in place, we have performed very well and seized multinational as well as national offers,” he added.

Ahead of the internship season, sessions were held to learn about the areas of interest of the students, he said, adding that the institute had approached major companies accordingly.

Prof Sharma said: “As our placement data for 2021-2022 shows, IIT Roorkee students perform well in all profiles and are recognized as top-notch human resources. “
