New Delhi: The clean energy company Convergence Energy Services has partnered with the Ladakh administration to make the Union territory carbon neutral.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed between the two, various clean energy and energy efficiency programs will be implemented.
âStarting with a pilot project in the Zanskar Valley region, CESL will adopt solar mini and micro grid solutions, energy efficient lighting, energy storage based solutions, efficient stoves and solutions. of electric mobility in UT.
âCESL will build the EV ecosystem for UT, focusing on EV charging infrastructure that will use renewable energy sources, and electric vehicles that are tested for high altitudes,â the company said.
According to CESL, the program will be based on innovative economic models, using carbon credits.
âThe Ladakh UT administration will support CESL by investing in projects, including the pilot, and will also assist in the business development of various Convergence clean energy and sustainability programs.
âBased on the feasibility and results of the program in Zanskar, other areas will be allocated to CESL.
